The local community association organizes fairy walks, choir rehearsals and flea markets. Another popular neighborhood hangout is the Eiserne Gustav at Hauptstraße 59A. Residents like to come together here often to talk about current neighborhood stories and sample the delicious menu.

Green is not only the environmentally conscious KOKONI ONE construction method or the plant-rich settlement concept, but also French Buchholz and the surrounding area. A particular highlight: the Karower Teiche ponds, which are just 2.5 kilometers from KOKONI ONE. This popular nature reserve and excursion destination is home to over 60 bird species and, if you’re lucky, you might even spot water buffalo here. The many surrounding (organic) farms are also full of animals. Goats, cows and rabbits can be admired and stroked up close against a beautiful farmyard backdrop. Some of the farms are also adjoined by farm stores with lovingly selected food assortments.

In the warmer months, the lakes in the area entice visitors with their refreshing water and green shores. These include the Arkenberger Baggersee, the Summter or Mühlenbecker See. There are also numerous parks and extensive green spaces where you can idle away the time under old giant trees or follow winding footpaths. The Botanical Volkspark and the Bürgerpark or Schloßpark Pankow stand out in particular for their beauty and diversity.

If you are worried that Französisch Buchholz is too rural or poorly connected, this is unfounded. The infrastructure of the idyllic Pankow district is excellent – and the trend is rising. More and more people are moving to the up-and-coming north of Berlin, which has an extremely positive effect on the demand for housing and the growing number of supermarkets, surgeries and restaurants. You will find everything you need for everyday life around KOKONI ONE within a walking and cycling-friendly radius of 1.5 kilometers. You can also reach the popular Pankow Florakiez district and its many boutiques and cafés within 15 minutes by car.

And if you want to go further afield: Thanks to the Berlin i2030 network expansion (S-Bahn/regional train), you are ideally connected to the center of the capital and can reach important public transport hubs such as the Friedrichstraße S-Bahn/U-Bahn station within 30 minutes. If you prefer two wheels, you will also get your money’s worth on the planned Panke Trail. The 18-kilometre-long high-speed cycle route is the green alternative to car traffic and will run from Karow in the north-east via the districts of Pankow and Prenzlauer Berg to Berlin city center.
